Dear colleagues and partners,
Dear friends,
Upper and lower limb injuries are usually complicated situations where both soft tissue and bone are involved. These kinds of injuries need a multidisciplinary approach that combines principles of both orthopaedic and plastic surgery. Proper technique and proper indications are absolutely necessary elements for a successful outcome of the surgery. In an attempt to exchange knowledge and find ways and effective solutions to difficult problems, such as emergency trauma, fractures with extended soft tissue loss, free flaps, perforator flaps, etc it was held the 1st Course of “Practical Flaps in Orthroplastic Surgery on fresh frozen cadaveric specimens” on June 9th-10th, 2023.
The Course which was organized by the 1st Orthopaedic Department of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, G. Papanikolaou General Hospital in cooperation with the Romanian Association of Plastic Surgeons (RoAPS) and the Orthopaedic Department of the University of Thessaly, University General Hospital of Larissa attracted both Orthopaedic and Plastic Surgeons who are dealing with upper and lower limb injuries, salvation and reconstruction. Our intention is to keep providing this knowledge at international level and with an eye to the future we proceed in the organization of the 2nd Course of "Practical Flaps in Orthroplastic Surgery on fresh frozen cadaveric specimens” on September 27th -28th, 2024 in Thessaloniki, Greece.
We invite you all to actively participate in our effort.
